Winter Run St.Paul, Minnesota

My sister and I talked about running a race every month in 2019! Well we went for it and signed up for a January race!  The Securian Financial Winter Run.  Dressed for it with balaclava, wool socks, hat, gloves, infrared pants, cold gear tops and jackets we were ready.  It was cold at -2 and a light snow, but once we were out there we didn’t even notice except for our frozen toes.  Our first January run turned into being a great race. I think we’d do it again.

After, we enjoyed some Starbucks and the St. Paul Winter Carnivel, as well as seeing some great ice sculpting that was going on. It’s amazing what they can do with ice. My nephew was our chauffeur for the day.  We had Chick-fil-A my first time and I guess I’d give it a ok review. Then off to Trader Joe’s, as we don’t have one of those here in Wahpeton, ND, I’d say it reminds me of Natural Grocers but on a bigger scale. Next we hit up a great wine store, I’m sure you’ll all do that, right? Out for supper with my nephew and his girlfriend, they were such great hosts.  Thank You!

The next morning we woke to weather news that we were in a winter storm back home so pack and get ready to head out to make it home before it hits.  Our hosts served a great breakfast before we left which we appreciated very much.  Of course we had to stop off at the outlet mall, who can let a good deal go by.  I did refrain from hitting all the stores but did pick up a new long columbia coat and hat, which I’m glad I did as it is -30 as I write this.  We made it home just as the storm hit and now the temperatures are plummeting for the next few days.

Now to find a race for February!! Stay tuned for the next race post.
